LoveLaw is #goals
Hi, I’m Danielle Montalto-Bly, a matrimonial and family law attorney living and working in New York City. Everyday I travel the boroughs, Long Island and Westchester to represent clients in cases related to divorce, custody, child support and other family matters. I rely on my communication skills and practicality to make the process as easy to understand and live through as possible.
Lots of people ask me, "What is a matrimonial attorney? Is that just a fancy way of saying divorce lawyer?" Yes and no. Being a “mat” lawyer means managing the logistics of splitting one life into two. It means thinking, thinking and rethinking the details to make sure I put client’s in the best position possible. I’m a liberator, support system and a reality check.
“Why matrimonial law? Isn't that depressing? Doesn't it make you jaded?" I’ve always been fascinated with relationships dynamics. I’m also highly sensitive and attuned to other people’s emotions. I’ve always wanted to figure out what makes relationships work and what causes them to fail. I’ve always wanted to learn from my mistakes and learn from people around me.
I really believe in marriage, monogamy and coparenting. I believe in fairness and logic. But, making those things work requires making informed, quality decisions early on. I hate to see people who could have decided very differently if they had all the support and information.
LoveLaw is the intersection between my career and my personal life. It’s honest, action packed and slightly rough around the edges. So, follow, subscribe and join the conversation.
